Sanford Advisory Services advisors are proud to provide administrative and consulting services for the WMU retirement plan to all employees. For over 20 years we have been involved with the WMU retirement plan. In 1987, SDMG Investment Advisory Services was hired by WMU. Since then, the plan has transferred in succession to Sledrunner Advisory Services and now to Sanford Advisory Services. Rest assured that, while there has been a name change, the primary managers of the plan have not changed.
Enrollment Assistance and Consultation
When you are ready to begin contributing to a Voluntary Tax-Deferred Savings Account, contact Sanford Advisory Services at 488-6900. Our advisors can provide investment advice if needed and assistance in filling out the necessary forms. This can be done in person or over the phone, whichever is most convenient for you. We are available at any time during the year to discuss your individual situation concerning the investments you have chosen, any problems that arise, or changes that need to be made regarding your salary reduction or investment selection. We act as a liaison between you and all of the investment companies available, TIAA-CREF and Fidelity.
In addition, we offer individual financial consultation to current employees. Whether you are considering retirement, would like third party assistance in evaluating a financial situation, or would like additional help with your investment and insurance needs, we are here to help!
NEW! Actively Managed Retirement Accounts (AMRA) With the recently expanded investment options available within TIAA-CREF and Fidelity, we are now able to directly manage your retirement accounts through our new program called AMRA. Frequently, investors have good intentions to monitor their investments, but fail to do so on a regular basis or lack the skills necessary to effectively evaluate investment options and economic conditions. To solve this problem, we are offering many new benefits. This program is completely voluntary. Please click here or contact us for additional information on how we can help you take control of your retirement!
Salary Reduction Agreements for the following calendar year are available in the Fall. You can also download a copy of the Salary Reduction Agreement here. We are available on campus during open-enrollment for individual consultations.
We are available for group meetings, seminars, or direct mailing to your group to promote participation in the Voluntary Tax-Deferred Savings Program.
